Annotate, annotate, annotate, tate, tate!
Hello Pre-AP! I hope that you guys digested the excerpt from “Great Expectations” that I handed out on Friday, and I can’t wait to see how you’ve totally written all over it! So what do you all think about that Miss Havisham? Told ya she was an interesting character!
After a little more annotation practice – this time with an excerpt from another favorite of mine, To Kill a Mockingbird – we’ll take some notes over short story elements and then start reading! We’re beginning with “The Moustache” by Robert Cormier. It is a very poignant story about a guy who goes to visit his grandmother in a nursing facility. You might need a Kleenex for this one!!!
Later in the week we’ll read Jack London’s “To Build a Fire” - yes, I know that a handful of you read it last year, but it’s a great story and I hope I’ll shine some new light on it for you!
So many of you have asked about going to check books out at the library, and we’re finally going to Orientation on Thursday so be ready!
Please be sure to visit our online calendar at www.localendar.com/public/KoolteechaPreAP !!
