I’m back in the saddle again…(that would be FIGURATIVELY, guys!)

Hello Fearless Scholars!

I am glad to be back at school after my near-death experience with wicked strep throat.

This week is flying by!  My regular classes (thankfully) are turning their final projects in TODAY (Wednesday) – Can I get a WOOT WOOT?    Please refer to your Research Packet to get specifics on how it should be assembled in your folder.  I will start Research Presentations tomorrow!  You have worked very hard!  Congratulations on surviving what is for many of you your first experience with research.   It is a long, tough process, but you did it!

Next week we’ll continue reading the play “The Diary of Anne Frank” and begin extending your learning/awareness beyond HER personal story.  I mentioned to you that genocides like the Holocaust are taking place in our world today.  We’ll expound upon that and begin learning about the genocide in Darfur.

Ah….my Pre-APeeps!  You are amazing beyond imagination!  Your Found Poems on “The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms” were dead-on – I can tell that you guys totally got the point, and your analyses prove that you read “beyond the lines” (ie Level 3)  to see what Ray Bradbury was trying to say.   You guys seriously ROCK MY FACE OFF!  I hope to POST some of your Found Poems in the next day or two!

I have two more fantastic short stories to share with you and then (appropriately, what with it being late October & all…) we’ll begin studying Edgar Allan Poe!!!   You know Poe, right?  “The Tell-Tale Heart”?  “The Raven?”  Well, if you don’t now, you will….oh, you will….BWAH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!

Please remember to click on the links to my online calendar.  I am still in the process of catching up on it, but it should be completely updated by the end of the day today!

Tootles,

Mrs. S

  1. OK, two things.
First, “Rock my face off?” I do believe you mean “Rock my socks off.”
Second, I love Poe. He is so eeriely amazing. I’ve read “A Tell-Tale Heart,” and I love it.

  2. Hi Mrs. Sanders.
This is really random but… your magic eight ball hates me. It said I was going to get an F on my report card for your class. Not cool. I like your little picture thing-a-ma-gig. Aggies rox my sox off and back on again (that is how you are supposed to say it). But anyways… yeah. I’m reading To Kill a Mockingbird. I love it but, it stinks because I watched the movie when I was like seven, and I remember part of the ending. Oh well. I have to go pretend to be asleep now while I actually read under the covers ( because that is the best place to read) and thoroughly enjoy not annotating. I was just wondering (I know what your thinking. Finally.. the whole point of this comment.) do we have to answer the questions in advisory on Wednesday because I was like really mad because I wanted to read my book. So yeah.

You are sitting like, right next to me..(: And ehh I don’t know what to say. I felt bad when you realized I had never been on your website. And thats truthfully only because my mom can’t stand talking to the charter people. And she doesn’t feel like talking to them about turning the internet back on. I’m dying for myspace. Anyways, I reeeeally want to be in your pre-ap class, so i’m going to sign up in the second semester. I think I can handle it. Hahaha. You just called me dude. Adults don’t usually say that. You crack me up. Ooohhhhhhhh sdnbfghsldfbgl I have to walk home today AGAIN. I don’t like walking home very much. Its only enjoyable when its cold outside..Hmmmmm babbling bambling bands of baboons.

    Gooooodbye.

  6. Mrs. Sanders, I’m certain that you are aware of the fact that NOTHING is confidential on the interweb. Yes, I can already imagine the whole school speaking of this “rocking others’ faces off.” Anywhoppers, I’m so glad we don’t have a stack of homework in this class because I have homework in every other class. I just can’t wait to get started on it.
