So….Poe.

Poe's Grave in BaltimoreThese few days around All Hallow’s Eve are some of my favorites of the year!  POE IS MY HOMEBOY!  :)

I hope that you guys enjoy listening to “The Tell-Tale Heart” tomorrow! (Tuesday)  It’s read by a fella named Iggy Pop – I don’t expect you to have ever heard of him, but your parents might have.  Anyhoo, he does a great job of recreating the tension that the narrator is feeling as he prepares for his “deed.”  The reading comes from a great CD I found called “Closed on Account of Rabies” and it’s got several of Poe’s stories & poems read by celebrities – too cool for a Poe fan like me…

By the way, you should DEFINITELY check out this website:  Knowing Poe

  5. MRS. SANDERS!
You should be an actress. Seriously, you played the creepy, death-that’s-not-dead, non-talking, hooded figure so well:)
Anyways, I’m starting to get more into Poe! I guess because after a couple poems/short stories he wrote, I can see how his writing is like an *allusion to his life & things in it.
    (Did I use that right?)
Ha well anyways, I’m excited to get more into it, I hope we’re not done with it YET!

OH! And I’ve heard of Iggy Pop!! I just don’t know WHO he is.

  6. OK. The whole commercial thing I’m looking forward to. Maybe I can use my…eh, creative way of thinking. Whatever everyone else has to be on board with my idea, as well. I’m not much of a dictator (I tried once but it didn’t work out), so I can’t use force.
