Welcome Back!!!!
Ah…my chickadees – I hope you all enjoyed a long, restful Spring Break! I always know that it’s time for me to get back to the classroom when I start DREAMING about teaching. Seriously.
So…I’ve been neglecting my sweet little edublog, but I’ve found new motivation and hope to keep up with it better than I have been. I think it’s cool to have a place for you, my Peeps and Regulators, to go when you need help, have a question, or just want to know what’s up or in what direction we’re going next. I also dig the great comments some of you leave me. I thrive on that stuff…
Wow. Pre-APeeps, you all totally surpassed my expectations with your Poetry Projects. You guys are AMAZING! It IS a bit time-intensive to load all of those little videos to our Ning, so please be patient! We’ll get the Ning charged up and going again when we get into The Bridge of San Luis Rey. I will let you know when all the vids have been added. I know you’re anxious to share your awesomeness!!!
We are getting back to business FULL TILT this week – new vocab, new novels, new grammar, and….we’re going to get back to our roots! That would be GREEK and LATIN roots…I’m implementing roots to our vocabulary curriculum! I am really excited because I am a SHAMELESS word nerd, and this gives me a chance to show off! Be on the lookout for new Greek/Latin roots handouts every week. I’ll also be adding some of this to our vocabulary quizzes, along with those nifty suffixes we took notes on not too long ago…
Well, my Pre-APeeps are beginning a new novel this week – The Bridge of San Luis Rey by Thornton Wilder. Let me just say that YOU GUYS ASKED FOR IT! I was impressed and pleased that you all seems so intrigued by the plot of this novel – five people standing on a bridge in Peru when it collapses, killing all of them. Perhaps an accident? Perhaps an intention? Whoa. We will have a LOT to talk about! We’ll be doing some Inner/Outer circle stuff with this novel. Can’t wait to see what you all have to say!
Regulators, you also begin a new novel – Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli! This is another great book that really lends itself to discussion. We’ll be trying out some Inner/Outer discussion stuff, too! I really, really love the story of Leo & Stargirl, and I think it appeals to both guys & girls. I think you’ll find it a great read that you can totally relate to.
Whew. I’d say I’ve worn out my blogging beast tonight. Ta ta!

Mrs Sanders, I’m totally glad that you wrote another blog finally.
Because everytime I came to your site, I would see a thing about a train, which doesn’t involve me.
And I would be kind of sad that there was nothing on here for the pre ap peeps
and now I’m rambling. Because I wasn’t sure what to type, I just wanted to leave you621 9a5196 a comment.
that was Kaitlin.
